STXM is a consulting naval architecture and marine
engineering company established in July 1983 and is a wholly owned subsidiary
of STX Europe
Formed in 1983 to serve the North American market, and formely known as Aker Yards Marine Inc., STXM (STXM) has grown steadily since that time and now offers naval architecture and marine engineering services worldwide from its Canadian and US operations.
The naval architecture and marine engineering services provided cover a wide range, including all aspects of ship design and production technology total equipment and service packages to support offshore and domestic shipbuilding activities transportation, economic and technical feasibility studies research and analytical investigations model tests
and full scale trials.
STXM specializes in the development of advanced technology and its application to vessel designs for both commercial and military vessels. The wide range of successful ship designs offered by STXM are proven in the water to be industry leading solutions to the mission challenges faced by our customers. STXM is very familiar with regulatory requirements imposed on vessels constructed and registered worldwide, and has developed this knowledge through routine use on actual ship designs that have progressed into construction and certification.
In addition to ship design, STXM has specialized teams of analysis engineers whose expertise in innovative, cutting edge technology in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), seakeeping, and maneuvering serves to provide practical, cost effective results for our client’s marine designs.
STXM employs naval architects, marine engineers, structural and system designers, and analysis engineers between its two offices in Vancouver, BC, Canada and Houston, TX, USA. The combined educational background and diverse practical experience of the STXM staff makes for a dynamic team ready to face any challenge.

Modular LNG Tanks
Delivered
Two, 125,000 m3 LNG storage tanks designed by
STXM have recently been completed
by Hyundai Heavy Industries. The
155m-long tanks are being shipped from Korea
to Spain, where they will be installed in the
Adriatic LNG Terminal.
